The implementation follows the Department of Higher Education and Training’s (DHET) pilot project for the implementation of the main ITS Integrator systems at Orbit, Tshwane North and Ehlanzeni Colleges, which sees the system being hosted at the State Information Technology agency (SITA) on a single server.

 A similar implementation methodology will be followed for the Western Cape FET Colleges.

 This includes:

• Hosting of ITS Integrator on a single platform at SITA

• Functional implementation of the system which will be split into two components, namely:

• System setup, configuration and key user training that will be conducted for the six Colleges simultaneously at one central location
• End-user training which will be conducted at each individual College.
• The pre-population of main code structures with the DHET-approved codes

This cost-effective implementation methodology has been developed to ensure consistency in system use and statutory reporting by the FET sector.

Implementation of the system for the six Colleges is well underway – the aim being the go-live of the main functionality in January 2011.
